Traders on Polymarket increase odds of US declaring war on Iran amid warnings from Iranian parliament members, highlighting rising tensions and shifting diplomatic expectations.

An Iranian parliament member has warned of the possibility of war and urged the public to stay ready without fuelling panic, a remark that has fed renewed attention to prediction markets tracking the risk of conflict between Washington and Tehran. According to Crypto Briefing’s reporting, traders on Polymarket have nudged the odds of a US declaration of war on Iran higher, reflecting a modest but notable shift in sentiment.

On Polymarket, the contract on whether the United States will officially declare war on Iran by December 31, 2026, has moved to about 8.5% yes from 7% a week earlier, while the April 30 contract remains almost flat at 0.1%, suggesting traders see little chance of an immediate declaration. The longer-dated market has also attracted substantial interest, with Polymarket data showing millions of dollars in total volume and enough liquidity to make the pricing harder to move than thinner markets.

Other Iran-linked contracts have shifted too. The market on an Iranian regime collapse by June 30 has climbed to 8.5% yes from 6% a week earlier, while the separate bet on a US-Iran permanent peace deal by April 30 has slumped to 2.5% from 61% just a week ago, underlining how quickly expectations for diplomacy have faded as the deadline approaches.

Crypto Briefing said a yes position on the war-declaration market was trading at around 9 cents, implying a sizeable payoff if the contract resolves in that direction. The publication also noted that traders will be watching comments from President Trump or Secretary Hegseth, along with any move in Congress, for signs that the situation is deteriorating further.
